District Update on Fall Re-Opening:
Administration and staff at Breckenridge Schools have been working diligently to plan for the 2020-21 school year. Our top priority is to provide a safe learning environment with high quality education for all our students.
Based on the directive from the Governor and the Minnesota Department of Education, Breckenridge is creating frameworks for the three scenarios including in-person classroom learning, distance learning, and a hybrid combination of in-person and distance learning. Ten committees made up of board members, administration, staff, and community members are part of this planning process. The results of the community parent/guardian survey have provided critical feedback to these committees. Thank you to all those who participated in that survey.
The Commissioner of Education announced yesterday, the Governor will be releasing education guidelines for fall re-opening of schools on July 30th. District administration and staff will then continue the process of finalizing a plan that will best fit our district, while also considering Minnesota Department of Education and Minnesota Department of Health guidelines for schools. The district plan will be communicated in early August (as soon as possible) to all parents in a number of ways including on our district website, Facebook page, and emails to each family.
In these ever changing times, any plan implemented will be fluid and may evolve as new information becomes available. It is vital to stay flexible and realize changes may need to be made based on state and local public health guidance. Our goal is to accommodate individual student and families needs to the best of our ability and work cooperatively together to achieve success for each of our students. We want to stress again that we are dedicated to continually monitoring the safety of our students and staff. Updates will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.
Together we continue our vision of Breckenridge Pride...Inspiring to Excel!
