About Mr Grahn

Hello, my name is Derek Grahn and I am in my second year teaching Business and Technology Education at Breckenridge High School. For the Fall semester, we will have Personal Finance, Marketing, Introduction to Business, Accounting III, and Computer Applications 8 courses offered. For Spring semester, Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship, Graphic Design, Accounting IV, and Computer Applcations 8 will be offered. I am also an Assistant Coach with the Boys Basketball program and am the Advisor for the DECA Club which was started this year to introduce students to different career options, compete in events, and gain experiences by working in the student store - The Barn.

As for a little bit about myself, I grew up in Pelican Rapids and have come to love the area. I graduated in 2007 and went to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities where I received a degree in Sport Management in 2011 and went back to coach basketball in Pelican Rapids during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. During that time, I realized that my passion was to work with students academically and athletically and went back to Valley City State University through their online teaching program and received a degree to teach Business and Technology Education. I am currently working towards my MBA through MSUM. I completed my student-teaching in Barnesville and accepted my first teaching job in Langdon, ND where I took on the role as teacher, technology coordinator, football, baseball, and basketball coach, FBLA advisor, Technology Club advisor, and freshman class advisor. I am extremely excited to stay involved with Cowboy athletics and extracurricular activities during the upcoming years.
