Release of Children
Your child will be released only to people listed on their registration form unless our team has been notified otherwise.

Absences
Notify Fun Club team if your child will be absent. The school office does not provide Fun Club with absence information. If your child does not arrive after school, program team will investigate immediately by attempting to contact you and the emergency contact. Due to the amount of time involved in trying to find children who have not checked into Fun Club, you will be charged $3.00 for each occurrence. If your child will not be attending on a scheduled day please call 641-4010 by 2:30.

Illness/Medical Concerns
Registration and emergency information is kept for each child. Please keep your child’s emergency information current. We are not linked to the main database in the school office, so we need you to contact Fun Club separately with family information changes, address, absences, etc.

•    Inform the coordinator when your child has a health
condition that requires regular or continuous medication
or if your child is discontinuing use of a medication.
•    Inform the coordinator of special needs or medical
conditions that impact your child’s health, well-being
     or involvement in activities.
•    If your child appears to be ill, you will be contacted
and asked to pick them up. We will try to provide
your child with a quiet area to rest until you arrive.

Fun Club follows the school districts emergency policies. If immediate attention is needed, 911 will be called. We will then contact the parents/guardians or others listed on the child’s Emergency Contacts.

Behavior Management
It is Fun Club’s goal to promote a positive approach to child care and the management of behavior issues. The program is designed to offer an environment that:
:
  •    Provides a positive, safe and pleasant atmosphere
       for the children.
  •    Meets the developmental level of the age group.
  •    Provides space for privacy and independence as
       well as group space.

Every effort will be made to make reasonable adjustments to the program to accommodate the unique needs of each child. If a child demonstrates behavior which has a negative impact on the child or others, the team will make adjustments in one or more of these areas: environment, grouping of children, activities and teaming.

Fun Club team will help the child understand the impact of his/her behavior and identify acceptable alternatives to unacceptable behavior. Children are encourage to take responsibility for their actions. Children are told what is expected of them in a positive, yet firm manner, and behavior expectations are posted in the classroom. Our team will  apply the expectations consistently and appropriately and praise appropriate behaviors.

If inappropriate behavior persists parent/guardian will be notified and a behavior plan may be instituted.

If inappropriate or harmful behavior continues, parent/guardian will be notified. If the behavior persists, it may lead to temporary or indefinite removal of the child from the program.

Registration Process
Registration forms and information are available in both the Fun Club and Community Education Offices. The SACC/YEP Coordinator is available during school hours and Fun Club team is available during program hours to answer questions regarding the program.

Families currently participating in the program have priority over new registrants, providing the necessary forms are completed and their account is paid in full. Enrollment is not guaranteed and is always on a space available basis. In order for your child to start on the first day of school your registration must submitted before the first day of school.

Attendance Policy
Parents are responsible for submitting an attendance calendar before the end of the current month for the next month. This information assures your child’s safety and assists us in staffing and planning. We recognize that your schedule may change during the month. Please notify us of any schedule changes.

Our team will sign children in on a daily attendance sheet and the person authorized to pick the child up is required to sign them out. Please use the North door to pick up your children.

Drop-ins are always welcome. Drop-ins must be pre registered and notification must be made by 2:30 that day.

Activities

The learning opportunities Fun Club provides are what makes this a FANTASTIC after school experience. We incorporate what  children want - fun and adventure, with what children need - safety in a nurturing environment.

Your children will be able to stretch their legs and their imagination by participating in both indoor and outdoor large motor activities, art projects, reading, games, community outreach, and many life skill activities including cooking, sewing, swimming, and bowling.

Field trips have always been a highlight of the program. We schedule four field trips a month to go swimming or bowling, tours of area businesses, educational activities at Chahinkapa Zoo, and intergenerational visits to St. Francis Home where students interact with the residents.
