Dear Breckenridge Families,
Welcome back to the 2018-19 school year! Custodial staff, administration and classroom teachers are all busy preparing for a great school year. Many exciting things are happening this year that will help each student excel and reach his or her fullest potential. A few of the highlights include:
- 7th and 8th grade have moved to the high school building. This has allowed us to spread out and create some additional learning spaces for projects, technology activities, group work, and much more!
- 21st Century Learning and Active classrooms continue to be our focus throughout the school day to increase student engagement and active learning opportunities for our K-6th grade students.
- Literacy Academy’s approach to creating an intrinsic motivation to read and increasing student engagement in reading lessons will continue through the gradual release of responsibility model in our reading instruction.
- Math curriculum went through a review process this past year that lead us to a new curriculum that focuses on a deep learning of math through a conceptual framework and building a strong foundation in math.
