Thank you for visiting the Fourth Grade website. Please visit this site often to stay in touch with upcoming events, pictures of the class and so much more. I am so excited to get to know you!
This year I will be starting my 33nd year of teaching in elementary education! Wow, I had to recount to see if that was right! It sure doesn't seem that long. Every year is a new beginning, with a fresh class of smiling faces eager to learn :) I have taught in Breckenridge for 30 of those years. The last few years I have been teaching 3rd & 4th grades. I grew up in the small town of Marietta, Minnesota. I attended college at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. I received my Master's Degree from St. Mary's University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My first teaching job was in Farmington, Minnesota. I lived two blocks away from the Minnesota Zoo.
After getting married in 1992, I moved to Fergus Falls. My husband works for CHS. He is a regional manager of elevators.
We have 3 boys, Derek, Reece, and McClain. Derek works for Douglas Machining out of Alexandria MN, Reece recently graduated from Concordia college and played baseball for the Cobers. He is starting his new job this month. Our youngest "Mac" is a sophmore at UND. He is excited to have his first "normal" year of college.
Having experienced my own children's schooling, it gives me great compassion and respect for parenting and a good understanding for what takes place before and after "3rd Grade" in a child's development.
Outside of school my interests are family and friends. I have replaced my many hours a week driving to and attending my sons' sporting events, to a more relaxed life of time on our lake, and gardening. I hope to do more creative work with pictures and art. I love to run...I know...weird...until my yard work got the best of me, I have had to resort to short walks or stretching.
Again, I will always be ready to hear any concerns that you may have.Sincerely,
