    Grades 7-8, $50 per student per activity
    Individual Limit $200; Family Limit $350
    Payment can be made at the Web Store or make checks payable to Breckenridge Public Schools, please note student's name, grade and sport. No one will be denied participation because of user fees. Cases of hardship in fee payment will be handled on an individual basis.

BRADLEY BANKEN, SON OF RANDY AND KAREN BANKEN, HAS BEEN NAMED THE RECIPIENT OF THE “SPIRIT OF THE COMMUNITY AWARD”.  IT IS GIVEN BY BRECK BRATS, A GROUP THAT SELLS BRATS AT THE BRECKENRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAMES, TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF OUR FORMER MAYOR AND BRECK BRATS MEMBER, KAL MICHELS.  THE SCHOLARSHIP GOES TO A SENIOR STUDENT AT BRECKENRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL WHO BEST EXEMPLIFIES THE CARE AND CONCERN FOR OUR COMMUNITY JUST AS KAL DID.  THE AWARD IS FOR $150 AND IS TO BE USED FOR COLLEGE.  CONGRATULATIONS, BRADLEY!





























Our retirees were honored on May 24th for their service to the students and school.  From left - Bill Braun, Harley Anderson, Dianne Anderson, and Jan Mimnaugh.  Staff was also recognized with milestone awards.

The 34th Annual Trig-Star competition was held May 12th at the Breckenridge Senior High School.  Brooke Busse was this year’s winner on the trigonometry test.  Claire Conzemius finished in second place and Carley Fredericksen was in third.  Twenty-three of Mr. Goldade’s College Trigonometry students were invited to participate in the event.  The top ten BHS trig scores totaled 765 points which was the 5th highest among the 17 participating Minnesota schools this year. Kastelle Land Surveying, owned by Russell Kastelle, sponsored the event. Kastelle is a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors who coordinated the event.













Chairperson Brett Johnson presented Colton Schuler with a framed certificate and card of appreciation for his service to the School Board as student representative at the May board meeting.

Prom Grand March begins at 7:30pm. Doors will open to the public at 6:30pm, please use Door 1, admission is $1.

Noah Stetz graciously accepts her second place medal at the 2017 State Speech Tournament held in Apple Valley on April 22. Congratulations, Noah!


On Wednesday, April 19, BHS attended the Math Contest at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. Thirty BHS students participated.  In the Algebra I division, Kaitlyn Arnhalt took honorable mention and Emma Ihland placed 5th.  Outstanding job math students!

Studio 5 co-teachers, Stacy Busta and Sarah Kratcha, were recipients of a 2017 WEM Outstanding Educator Award for Teacher Achievement, an honor that is accompanied by a $15,000 award.  The achievement award recognizes exemplary teachers who support, inspire and assist students to attain greater learning as evidenced by student achievement.

The BHS Knowledge Bowl team traveled to Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls on Tuesday March 14 for the Sub-Region 4AA KB meet.  The team returned home with 3rd place. The top 6 teams advance to the Region 4AA meet next Tuesday. The Breckenridge Bold team consisting of Tommy Stach, Johnny Maack, Kurt Manning, Jaylen Lemna and Lucas Simmer scored 97.5 points just behind two Hawley teams each scoring 112.5 and 100.5 points. The other BHS teams finished in 15th and 31st in the forty-three team event.

The BHS Knowledge Bowl team traveled to Concordia College on Wednesday March 1st for Moorhead High School's 31st annual KB meet.  The team returned home with 3rd place. The Breckenridge Bold team consisting of Kurt Manning, Jaylen Lemna, Ethan Swenson, Johnny Maack and Lucas Simmer scored 90 points just behind Hawley with 90.5 and Barnesville with 92 points. The other BHS teams finished in 11th and 37th in the thirty-nine team event.


The BHS Knowledge Bowl team traveled to Fergus Falls on Monday February 6th and returned home with first place. The Breckenridge Bold team consisting of Lucas Simmer, Kurt Manning, Johnny Maack, Tommy Stach and Jaylen Lemna also received top written round honors scoring 39 out of 60 questions. BHS scored 95 points followed by Fergus Falls with 85.5 and Detroit Lakes with 84 points. The other BHS teams finished in 5th, 7th, 15th and 16th in the twenty team event
Good job to the cast and crew of One-Act Play.  They finished 4th place overall at the section competition out of 8 teams.




Breckenridge performed the play "Booby Trap" at One-Act competition. Breckenridge High School placed 1st in sub-section competition on Saturday, January 28. They advance to the section meet where the 1st and 2nd place finishers from 4 sub-sections meet to determine one play to go on to State. In addition, Dominic Erickson won the only Outstanding Actor Award given that day!
